Grower BL CHRISTMAS TREES is a Balsam fir and Fraser fir Christmas tree grower known to be a leader in the industry. We have been growing trees for years and, as a Christmas tree farm, we are always looking to improve growing techniques for generations to come.
Christmas Tree ProducerWe are involved in every step of the production: from seedlings and transplants to harvesting fresh cut cultivated natural Christmas trees a few years later, to delivery to independent retailers and garden centers in North America and overseas.
Land & EquipmentLand and equipment to grow Balsam fir and Fraser fir are major factors in the quality of the Christmas trees. We, at BL Christmas Trees, have been choosing the best of both for over two generations to harvest our trees.
Transplants & SeedlingsAt BL Christmas Trees, all transplants are carefully inspected and selected by hand, one by one. We only use transplants with very strong genetics.
Planting TreesEvery spring, we usually plant over 100,000 transplants. All the trees planted the previous spring are inspected and replaced, if required, to maximize the amount of trees grown per acre of land.
PlantationsEach tree grown in the plantations is fertilized twice per year and sheared once per year. We use IPM AND LOW-SPRAY methods to minimize the negative impact of herbicides and pesticides. Going green is important for generations to come.
Harvesting TreesAll trees grown in our family farm are base-pruned. This advanced growing technique has quite a few advantages: faster tree growth, more efficient cutting process, and cleaner stumps for customers, etc.
Baling TreesAt BL Christmas Trees farms, all trees grown are individually baled to maximize freshness. Baling trees with roping is more efficient, prevents damages to the trees, and makes handling easier for clients having to move trees around in their selling area.
Sizing TreesTrees are measured directly on the baling machine, from the bottom of the stump to the top of the last crown.
Loading TreesRefrigerated trailers and maritime containers are used to send fresh trees to the farthest states and provinces all over America. We take care of all paperwork required for customs, if any, and will make sure you get your trees on time.
