PLANTING TREES
Planting tree Planting Christmas trees is an art by itself. Land and transplants are the two major factors in growing Christmas trees. Every year during the spring season, we normally plant over 100,000 transplants in the field: Balsam fir double needle and Fraser fir christmas trees. It takes about eight years to harvest the Balsam fir, an extra two years for the Fraser fir. All transplants are manually inspected and chosen before planting, making sure it will grow into a beautiful Premium grade Christmas tree. Trees are planted with a planting machine pulled behind a tractor. Late blooming transplants are prefered, in order to prevent as much as possible frost damages to the buds in the late spring period. All trees that were planted the previous spring are inspected, replaced if required to maximize the amount of trees grown per acre of land.
